The SAT 15 Substation and Transmission Line Project involves the proposed construction of a new electric substation and transmission line in the northwest portion of Bexar County near the intersection of State Hwy 151 and Wiseman Blvd. This substation is needed to provide electric service to a large business in the area.
CPS Energy has evaluated multiple geographically diverse transmission line options and has filed an application to amend its existing Certificate of Convenience and Necessity with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC).
Throughout the course of the PUC process, CPS Energy will be posting updates to major activities and information regarding this project on this webpage.
Update 11-18-2024: Following a vote taken at the PUC Open Meeting held October 03, 2024, the PUC issued an order adopting Route H as the approved route for the SAT15 Project. On November 18, 2024, the CPS Energy Board of Trustees agreed with the PUC and adopted Route H as the approved route for the SAT15 Project. CPS Energy will provide written notice of the final order according to the rules and regulations of the PUC.

Update 11/11/2024: SAT 15 Substation & Transmission Line Project will be seeking Board approval of the project at the November 2024 Board Meeting.

Update 4/2/2024:
On 1/30/24 the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) issued Order No. 5. This order found the application and notice sufficient
On 2/7/24 the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) issued Order No. 6. This order acknowledged the settlement agreement supporting Route S, and remanded the proposed order to the Public Utility Commission of Texas. The proposed order can be viewed at the PUC Interchange Website.
Update 12/13/2023:
The State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) issued Order No. 4 canceling the Route Adequacy Hearing and requiring CPS Energy to amend its application.
Update 11/03/2023:
CPS Energy has filed the CCN Application for the SAT 15 Transmission Line Project with the Public Utility Commission of Texas under docket number 55728.
